The concentration camps were places where people went if they didn't meet Hitler's criteria. These places were places where people were killed and tortured. The places that the prisoners slept in were no better than sleeping on a hard rough floor. There were 36 bunkbeds per one small building which was called a barrack. People were forced to sleep 5-6 per bed. They were also forced to wear the same clothing for sleeping and working. The treatment of children is even more appalling. Most children upon arrival to Auschwitz would be immediately killed. There was a camp doctor who choose children to be tested on. What he was testing was unknown since his main forms of testing were freezing them, placing in pressure chambers, and testing with drugs. Instead of killing children then putting them into the cemetery, they skipped the step of killing these children and sent them straight to the cemetery alive!
What is a holocaust?
A holocaust is a mass slaughter. In this case the Nazis slaughter people at these camps. Many innocent people died, and the people who survived or escaped these camps were not in the best condition and some of them had to hide upon arriving because the Nazis were still looking for them and they did not get much food so most of them died. That is why is was considered a holocaust.
